So many of our clients relocate to Hampshire, not only for the excellent choice of state and private schools, easy access to London and airports, it’s beautiful countryside, but also for the proximity to the many outstanding beaches we are blessed with. Beaches such as Barton on Sea, Milford, Lepe, Mudeford, West Wittering and of course Lulworth Cove.

This week, I received a call from Ian Brighouse who has created the wonderful and inspiring Man On A Beach website. He has travelled the lengths and breadths of the coast of England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Island, filming and speaking to thousands of people to ask them ‘what does the beach mean to you?’. He is collaborating with holiday let companies and property finders like myself, to include them on his website manonabeach.com. He also asked me the all important question!

For me, the beach is instant happiness. It frees my mind and calms it immediately. The sounds, the smell, the endless horizon. I have always felt a strong connection with everything to do with being by the sea for as far back as I can remember, and it was definitely one of the main factors for me when moving back to Winchester 14 years ago. We can be on the beach within 40 minutes – it can take that long just to get a 1 mile up the road in London at times…
