In search of the perfect family home

We approached Goosechase after the property we were buying fell through. Unfortunately for us this was at an incredibly buoyant time in the market when it was hard just to get a viewing let alone have an offer accepted. We were looking for something just a little bit different to the standard housing stock in our area of choice and were becoming increasingly disillusioned.

Expat returning home

Having lived and worked abroad for many years, I was planning my move back to England and needed to find a suitable home for myself and my son prior to my return. This was almost impossible to do from a distance. I got in touch with Kate and Teresa who understood my needs and timescales and set about the search straight away. It only took one trip home to see a carefully chosen selection of houses in a variety of locations that would work with one of them being exactly what I was looking for. Ageing Parents needing to downsize

Move driven by lockdown

We decided to make a move from Surrey to Hampshire at a time when it seemed that the whole of London had decided to leave the city for a more rural lifestyle. Every house had gone under offer before it was even posted, and the market was swamped with cash buyers. The idea of a property search consultant had never been something I thought I would ever consider, I thought that was for corporate relocations, or for rich people who just wanted to outsource hassle. At the same time, I knew we had no chance of moving unless we did something different. I contacted Kate because I had stumbled across some lovely reviews about her online and initially just wanted a chat. She was friendly, informed, to the point, empathetic and very genuine and I felt an immediate rapport with her. We ended up asking her to help us and today is exactly one year to the day since we moved into the most wonderful family home, a home we would never have found without her.

Kate knows about properties coming to market even before an agent has been appointed; she knows the area and gives you honest advice on different towns and villages and community life; she has excellent, long-standing and trusted relationships with local estate agents, which means she can secure an early viewing; she will guide you expertly through the offer process, and when bumps in the road come along during the painful conveyancing months, she will help you navigate them. It feels to me that every house move succeeds or fails because of trust, and Kate understands that intuitively – she is a fixer, and one with utmost integrity. Everything I have listed here, she did for us.

We live in a beautiful home with an amazing heritage, which we honour and value more than we can say. Our two daughters are happy, settled and grounded. We would never have achieved this new family life without Kate’s expert help and we are so very grateful to her.

Moving back to Winchester from London

I recently moved back to Winchester after living in London for a number of years. I was aware that finding a family home in the Winchester area is not easy and, in the post lockdown era, it is even more challenging. I knew I needed a search agent to help right from the start. Kate was recommended to me by friends and I am delighted to recommend her myself. Kate readily understood my property needs and gave clear advice on the market.  Her knowledge of the area is huge. She was very good at suggesting properties and explaining their potential. She was very reliable, efficient and incredibly prompt when responding to me. She was always positive, kept me motivated and reassured me that the right property was “out there” for me, which it was. Without Kate’s help I would not be living in my lovely home now.
