I’m sure you have heard or read by now that Winchester was voted the best place to live by the Times at the weekend.  I was delighted to speak at length to the journalist, Alexandra Goss the day before she came to visit the city for the day and was able to give her heaps of tips, information and ‘must do’s’ whilst she was here.  Places like The Chesil Rectory, The Black Boy  and Black, White and Red are Winchester institutions and shouldn’t be overlooked – Eleanor and the boys even got their picture in there, although we hear much sweet laden bribery took place prior! Since I moved back to my home town in the summer of 2011, it has honestly felt like I am on holiday every day and I constantly have to pinch myself.  The children are thriving at their wonderful primary school and my son is preparing for the exciting move up to Kings later this year.  As I said to the news reporter on our local radio station, Wave 105 on Sunday who called me up for some ‘soundbites’ – it is honestly a privilege to live here.
