On the second day of this year, we met Mark and Davina who were living in Brussels and were looking to move back to this country. They had stayed with friends just outside Winchester over Christmas, had fallen in love with the area and felt this was the perfect place to begin the next chapter of their lives. After our meeting with them, we felt we had a good feel already for the type of home and location they were looking for and we set to work straight away. Being January, there were not many new instructions coming to the market, especially with the awful weather that was set to hit us that month. However, we grilled the agents in our usual charming way and managed to find an ‘off market’ house that wasn’t due to come on until the following month. As soon as we walked in, we looked at each other and shared a smile, we both had the same gut feeling that it was perfect for them. Within a week, we had arranged a tour of six houses including this one for our clients and watched their reaction closely as they walked in. Sure enough, they shared the same look and as Mark said afterwards ‘ it is a 10 out of 10 property’.
We acted quickly and managed to negotiate a sale for them within 24 hours of the viewing – some of the negotiations ironically taking place on a Saturday evening as they were visiting their daughters in Shepherds Bush, and I was being driven over the Westway a mere mile away, enroute to a party! Contracts exchanged swiftly and they moved in two weeks ago. We have since bumped into them several times in the area and we know we will always keep in touch as they begin their new adventure in this beautiful town. They were kind enough to take the time in amongst unpacking boxes and investigating the new hostelries to write us this lovely testimonial.
