With the Olympic Games only a couple of weeks away now, the torch is steadily making its way towards the capital.
Next week sees it arrive in Hampshire, and it will travel through the county from the 11th to 16th July by road, air and water on its route.
On Wednesday 11th the torch will be travelling from Reading to Salisbury passing through Basingstoke, Kings Worthy, Winchester and Andover before moving on to Wiltshire and Dorset for a couple of days. It then makes its way back into Hampshire on Saturday 14th when it will journey from Bournemouth, passing through landmarks in the New Forest and across the Solent to the Isle of Wight, before arriving in Southampton where there is an evening celebration in Mayflower Park.
The 15th sees the procession move from Southampton, across to the Channel Islands and back to Portsmouth for another evening celebration, this time on Southsea Common.
Finally, on the 16th the torch progresses across Hampshire, through Petersfield and on into Sussex.
There are plenty of opportunities to see the spectacle over these few days, but do check out the following website for all the information about the best places to view and all about the local events held in celebration.
