2014 – what a whirlwind!  It kicked off on January 2nd when we met our first new clients of the year in the popular Corner House for a coffee and a chat about their requirements and how we could help them.  They lived in Brussels, were looking to relocate  and had fallen in love with Winchester whilst visiting friends for Christmas.  We clicked straight away, and they contacted us within a few hours to say they felt confident that we would be the right people to help them with the next chapter of their lives.  We got on the case immediately with all the key agents  and 10 days later they traveled back for a ‘magical mystery tour’.  One of the houses we showed them was a hidden gem, not due to come to the market until spring.  We felt it would tick all their boxes and sure enough, they loved it and made an offer.  They moved in a few months later and I often bump into them in as we live in the same village.  Seeing them so happy and settled into the community is what we love most about our job – its what its all about.

Since then, we feel as though our feet literally haven’t touched the ground.  Lots more new and exciting searches incorporating budgets from £300,000 – £2,000,000, taking us to new and undiscovered villages, meeting new agents and contacts and seeing an amazing selection of property along the way.  Highs and lows, gazumping and contract races – it was a crazy market for a while and then thankfully it calmed down over the summer.  We remained busy right up until a couple of days before Christmas when we found a fantastic house, not due to the market until mid January, for one of our clients who had resigned themselves to the fact that they probably wouldn’t be seeing anything new until spring due to the lack of quality stock in their price range. Fingers crossed they will already be moved in before then.

Our clients come to us for a variety of reasons. For most, they are moving from a distance and don’t have the time to view or knowledge of their chosen area, plus they are frustrated at being shown the wrong type of property and missing out on the quality stock.  We get access to ‘low key’ properties and instructions before they reach the open market, which puts our clients one step ahead of the competition.  Sometimes they just need a helping hand, especially if they are doing it on their own.  Sometimes they are unclear about exactly what they want and where they want to be and need some guidance from unbiased professionals who can give an overall view.  We often feel we are as much property finders, as we are psychologists and marriage counselors but we wouldn’t change it for the world!

New enquiries  come to us from a variety of different sources – mainly recommendations from people we have met through networking,  estate agents and even other search agents.  We continue to work hard on these relationships and prove they made the right decision pointing them in our direction.

We enter 2015 with a handful of lovely people eager to move to this wonderful county of ours,  and we look forward to more new and exciting challenges as the year progresses.  It will be interesting to see what the new year brings in terms of new stock, however the agents we have spoken to so far are already optimistic. One things for sure, we NEVER give up in our search to find our clients their ideal Hampshire home.
